As a trained Home Economist, I have always been interested in handmade crafts and the reduction of waste in the home. When I retired from teaching, I started making soaps at home as an alternative to liquid soaps, shampoo and shower gels.
My own skin is quite sensitive, and I wanted a nice smelling soap that did not irritate. I blend Essential Oils to add fragrance to my products. I do not use any synthetic fragrances or premixed scents.
Many of my products were made to meet the preferences of family members. For example, a bright, fresh Lavender soap for my daughter. The Gardener’s Soap was developed to remove soil from my husband’s hands, and contains fine pumice, shea butter and marigold petals to add colour. If, like me, you prefer musky notes, then try my Lavender and Myrrh Soap.
The products I sell have been tested and comply fully with all regulations and are registered with the Government’s Cosmetic Products Notifications Service. Our aim is to eliminate the use of the plastic bottle in the bathroom and to use packaging which is environment friendly.
I am keen to continue to further develop the range of products we market and have started to also sell Shampoo and Conditioner Bars. From customer feedback, our products are used extensively when travelling, camping or at festivals, and at the gym and other sports activities. With our solid bars, there are no leaks from a bottle!
