Turnerford Oak is an artisan business that produces bespoke handcrafted accessories for the home from locally sourced native hardwoods. We are fortunate to have our workshop on our smallholding in the hamlet of Keasden, which is located at the foot of Ingleborough between the beauty of the Forest of Bowland and the majesty of the Yorkshire Dales.
We are passionate about the timber we use regardless of whether it is new or recycled. This passion extends from its selection through its production to how we apply the final finish. As each piece is unique so is the protective coating it receives; our cutting boards receive a minimum of 3 coats of food friendly mineral oil mixed with bees wax, while the other accessories, are coated with natural waxes. We never use stains, we let the wood speak for itself.
We have based our business on a responsible environmental philosophy, which emphasizes sustainability and renewability. These ideals are maintained through responsible purchasing along with the planting of native trees on our smallholding.
Our passion is to produce high quality products at realistic prices and equally importantly to meet the unique requirements of our customers. We do this by offering stock items within our growing range of products, while also offering a bespoke service. So, if for example you require a specific size or shape of chopping board or tealight holder made from a specific type of wood. Just email us with your requirements and we will make it for you.
